Mohave Valley sits at about 523 feet — the lowest point in our service area — on genuinely agricultural ground beside the Colorado River. Cotton and alfalfa are the principal crops here, the community is 88% rural, and the parcels are larger than anything in town.
River-valley alluvium is soft, sandy and worked. On agricultural ground with a shallower water table, what the slab sits on matters more than what it is made of — and on some sites the honest answer is that a soils report is worth having before anything is poured.
Equipment pads, shop floors, approaches and pads that carry weight. This is not decorative flatwork country — it is concrete that has a job to do, and the specification follows the load rather than the catalogue.

With larger, working parcels, a lot of the flatwork here has to carry real weight — trucks, trailers and equipment rather than a family car.
The Colorado River alluvium here is genuinely agricultural soil — soft, sandy and silty, and generally with a shallower water table than the upland towns. That changes the calculation on foundations in particular.
Mohave County's adopted residential code defaults to 1,500 psf soil bearing pressure unless a soils report justifies otherwise. On soft river ground, a soils report is more often worth the money than not, and we will say so when we think your site is one of those.
Frost is not a factor at this elevation. Summer heat is, and pours get scheduled accordingly.
Mohave Valley is right next door to our Fort Mohave base, a few minutes south on SR 95. Ready-mix concrete has a limited window between batching and placement, and being this close makes that window easy to work with. What drives scheduling here is the heat — summer pours start early.

Not always, but on soft river-valley ground it is worth asking. The county's default assumption is 1,500 psf bearing; if your site is softer than that, a foundation designed on the default assumption is designed on the wrong number. We will flag it if we think your site warrants one.
Yes. Mohave Valley is next door to our Fort Mohave base and squarely inside our service area. The practical consideration is the heat — summer pours generally start early — not whether we will come.
Yes. Tell us what is going on the slab and how heavy it is, including any point loads from a lift, press or tank. Thickness and steel follow the load; it is much cheaper to specify that before the pour than to discover it afterwards.
